Does anyone know if I can fit the following box in my 3rd Gen. Prius. The box measures: 40 inches wide, 48 inches long, and half an inch deep. Yes, it is a big but skinny box that has a 2mm steel hearth plate that will go under a free-standing wood stove. Will this work with the seats folded down? Thanks!
I just measured my Gen2 trying to figure if I can fit something myself. From front to back was 62 inches and the space between the wheel well was 38 inches. I can't imagine the Gen3 being any smaller. Although not the exact same vehicle, I hope this helps somewhat. iPad ? HD
Well I can say my 9'4" surfboard got in my Prius no problem, I also got a Weber Genuis Grill fully boxed into the back also. And a 4 drawer legal file cabinet, not at the same time.
You would be surprised. I loaded a new (in the box) self propelled lawn mower in mine. The guy at Home Depot couldn't believe his eyes.
I loaded a washer and drier at the same time. They were European size (Bosch Axxis) and legroom was limited
I've had my Prius for about a month and a half and have put 2 40 x48 inch pallets stacked on top of each other in the back with the back seat down. I also brought home 12 1 x 12 x6 foot long pieces of redwood. Amazing amount of room. I love this car. My Chevy Silverado is parked now and only used for the really big stuff.
This is one of the beauty of the Prius, no need for a truck so far. I have loaded a treadmill and 50 gallon water heater on different occasion with no problem.
You will want to get a battery maintainer (trickle charger) for the Chevy. I have an Explorer and have had the battery go dead from lack of use several times since getting the Prius.
Wow gotta pic? We also need to know brand of kayak so we know what to buy to fit in a Prius. I have a 1o-ft kayak have not tried to squeeze in yet, but the implication is maybe Prius "v" could possibly handle a 10-ft'er. It all depends on the specific shape of the kayak. Upsidedown, they may fit in better, but after a fishing trip with all the dirt, fish juice and fish hooks on it and everything, I have opted to use my *other* car (minivan) for the kayak inside-the-car trick.
I had 4 marching band tubas in my Prius with the hatch down. Always carrying 8' 2X4's for some project or other.
