Hi all, Well, just replaced my HV battery, hooked everything up (I think) and tried to start it. ALL the caution lights came on and stayed on. This is the code that showed up on the reader. P0AE0, Any ideas on how to fix it? The battery was refurbished and I changed over my Computer module and the contact posts. Everything is tight, and I compared my pre-takedown pics to the post-repair work and it all looks correct. thanks alan
"This is the code that showed up on the reader. P0AE0" I believe that is not a valid DTC. If P0AC0, that would be a battery current sensor malfunction.
What type of reader did you use? Some give false readings. The most common error in this repair is not returning the service disconnect plug to its proper position. It needs to have that last click upwards to make the connection.
Hello Alan! Did you ever find the cause of your p0AE0 code? I did work on my hv battery in my 2007 Prius and after re-installing the pack I got the same code. Thanks!
did anyone get an answer? Stuck with same problem, however just took covers off the battery and pulled the plug, plugged back in after a day of letting the battery cool, wanted to start but getting same code.
Hi thank you for responding. No I am using Torque Pro... but now no code, lol, but car still doesnt start. I have the cover of the battery open, would that change anything?
That shouldn't hurt other than not cooling properly. Did you perform all three steps in reinstalling the orange safety disconnect? Insert it, fold the handle, slide the handle toward its pivot point. Missing step three is incredibly common.
This is what P0AE0 means. It happened to me. I rebuilt my '07 Prius battery and then messed up and put a bolt in a hole in the drivers side under the back seat. If you do this you will render the battery and all the repairs you just did on it useless, because that bolt will go right through the front relay in the HV battery and ruin the relay. Take the battery apart again and remove the front relay and look for a hole like this... picture included. you will need a new one.
