I am needing to replace the seat belt on my 2008 Prius and I read that the first step is to remove the back seat cushion. How can I do that? Someone mentioned to pull up on the seat cushion but I am not sure how to do that? When I put my fingers under the seat cushion (the front edge of the one you sit on) I don't feel anything and I worry that I may be forcing something if I pull. Thanks for your help in advance!
The back seat cushions are held in by bolts, the bottom seat cushion, you just lift up from the "middle" of the seat. Pull hard.
Pull up from the middle of each outboard seat, you should be able to then lift up the front and pull forward the lower seat cushion. You'll then have access to the seat belt components.
the bottom seat cushion only attaches from the very middle of the entire seat. Pulling up from the middle of each seat gets you nothing.
I just checked, there are two latch point in the forward middle of the two outboard seats. I have corrected my original reply, the rest of instructions stands.
lower half of the seat lifts out no tools needed than the rear folding half comes out by removing the bolts on the back of the seats, unhook the seat belts at the top of the seat
On the rear side panels you will find some plastic clips. You have to remove them before removing the plastic covers. There are 3 covers, one on eahc side and a middle one. After all plastic side covers are out, from the side of the rear seat snap it firmly upward. This should be done on both sides. Lift the front part of the seat and take out the seat belts. Remove the back seat on either side.
