Hello, I plugged in my iphone via usb to the usb port under arm rest Wanted to use the prius speaker when using google maps navigation or play music on my phone The audio just doesnt play Am i missing some setting Thanks
Bluetooth works, was not impressed with the stock stickers on 2014 PIP Base when playing at higher volume I feel playing audio over usb connection might sound better Is it possible ?
Was it working before and stopped suddenly OR you are trying to connect for the first time? I used to use USB stick with songs connected there but changed to connect it with my iphone to play the itunes playlists etc.
I'm thinking that it might depend on your phone......and am guessing that it might not accept an audio input via USB but would "find" the music library on the phone IF the phone allows it. It seems like I remember that mine would "find" music stored on a memory card on the phone but couldn't see any stored in the main memory.
This can be easily tested. 1. Connect a USB flash drive with songs in it and check if those can be played on the Head Unit(using USB source selection) 2. Connect an iphone with songs on its itunes/apple music, select "iPod" option on the head unit. if either works, PiP's USB connector is healthy. If both are not working, try to charge a phone using USB connector. If charges, USB is partially working(only power channel), if not working you must say RIP for your USB in car.
My USB stick no longer works in my PiP. Went to a 16 GB stick and it worked for a few songs, then went wonky. Now it doesn't read it at all. The files show up on the home computer and play just fine. The USB feature worked fine when I used an 8 GB USB stick. I wonder is this means I need to upgrade to the latest head unit software version.
Your new "stick" may not be formatted correctly for the car to use. Try your old 8 G again to see if there is a problem in the head unit.
