There is very little if any MPG drop. I did not see any drop when I installed mine but I also installed racing hubcaps just after the mud guard install so I did not get to drive it much to see a difference. I did see about a 2MPG increase when installing the hubcaps but your mileage may vary.

Yup, there was much speculation when the guards were first 'discovered', but it's pretty clear now that they have no measurable impact on MPG.

I installed mine last weekend. They were very easy to install. you do have to take off the rear wheels though, but its really no biggie. I have noticed no, absolutely no difference in MPG, handeling, and I think they do give a nice "finished" look to the vehicle. It looks quite good without them as well though.

So in essence, I needed to have added protection since I live on a gravel road. I'm glad I put them on and recommend that if you decide to put them on, go for it. I dont think you will experience any difference in MPG, wind noise, driveability, etc. good luck.!!

I've had the splash guards since spring and I have seen no decrease in MPG.

Shouldn't matter. They're standard equipment in Canada.

The only negative effect splash guards have on the Prius is you have to drill several holes in the car. This bothers me because then you can never take them off without it not looking stock.
