Had the time...carbon fiber project (A/C vents)

    I had the time and the extra materials laying around so I started working on my carbon fiber (my hobby is composite fabrication) project for the Prius. Just a few pics of the process/job. I may actually remove this in the future and do a carbon/blue Kevlar hybrid in the future...but this works for now.

    Looks very cool and professional. But knowing nothing about composite fabrication, not sure exactly how you did it. Carbon fiber wrap first, then clear wrap over???

    That’s nice. If you can make a overlay for the trunk garnish I would be very interested in it.

    Carbon fiber 2x2 twill fabric overlay with 5 layers of clear (polyester) resin (doesn’t yellow over time like epoxy), sanded up to 2000 grit and polished. Not overly difficult, just time-consuming with all the layering/sanding.
