It appears that the last place I took my Prius for an oil change lost that little metal clip by the oil filter housing and did not replace it.

Does anyone know how I can find a replacement clip from an online source? What is that little clip officially called or the part name / number?

Not sure what it’s called or what it’s purpose is;).

I believe it is a retaining clip but it doesn’t really retain the oil filter cap from what I can tell:cool:.

    I wouldn’t worry about it personally (y).

Dealership parts department should be able to easily/cheaply source that too. Still, as ray hinted, it does nothing. I've done about 16 oil and filter changes, never paid any attention to it.
