Just read this about the 2019 Prius: "Visor extenders are also now a standard feature."

What are the chances that I will be able to retrofit 2019 visors on my 2018 Prius?

I'll let you know. That's a feature the 18' needs and I plan to get a pair.

I've never noticed a problem. Must have been designed for my height and seat placement. It's the least issue I've got with the car.

We don't get enough sunshine here in the UK to justify the expense :(

Other Toyota cars probably compatable. Camry has them on 2012. Rav 4 has them on 04 on up but those are a little bigger. As long as it fits in the headliner and mounts correctly all good.

My VW Microbus had plastic mounts and after a few years they split. I went to the wrecker yard and found some on an older model which were solid metal - they looked the same, though the actual visor was water/sun damaged. I was able to swap the good old fittings with my broken ones - solved the problem for a couple of dollars.

When I read that the 2019's will finally remedy some of the oddly deficient shortcomings of the previous years, it really makes me wonder how Toyota managed to implement the previous quirky and eccentric decisions in the first place.

In my 2017 Prime, I can't believe that Toyota wasted money on a completely useless carbon-fiber hatch and omitted such necessities as a rear wiper (1st time I've had to bust out my squeegee in the mornings in a couple decades), the extending sunvisors, and the multiple USB ports (2.1A and above, not the useless 1A variety). The money they could have saved from the hatch could easily have paid for all of these items, and more. They couldn't possibly have thought that the Fast and the Furious crowd would choose a Prime just because they added carbon-fiber.

Still love my Prius (single best feature is the HOV sticker), and it's good to see that they fixed some of these problems (along with relocating the heated seat switches to the cupholders). However, how these issues ever got through in the first place is unbelievable.

Still no Carplay??? It's no wonder that the Japanese electronics industry is in the dumps.
