Gen 2Prius with new big dealer battery Engine Blew up. Now need thoughts on what to do? AAAwill how 100 miles for free. Car in Auburn I am in Oakland, Pittsburg or Reno Car for grandaughter, soph in college and grandson, UOP graduate and waterpolo player now in Europe sometimes here. Suggestions?
Car possibly ran low on oil, engines don't usually just "blow up". How many miles do you have to tow it? AAA will tow 200 miles with a premier membership. You can upgrade your plus membership and wait 7 days for the premier benefits to kick in
Sorry to hear your story. There are a couple of mechanics in Sacramento that could help. What do you want to do with your Prius since a recent investment was made? Good luck and keep us posted .
Not sure have so much invested in the battery wish I knew what to do. Who do you recommend in Sacramento? Any idea of cost ?
Grandaughter drove car, ignored the yellow light so pretty sure it ran out of oil. I have 100 miles now on AAA written for Nevada, car in Auburn.
What is the distance you'll need to tow it? You should get a proper diagnostic, it may just have a failed inverter pump. That is a $100 part. Don't throw in the towel without knowing for sure what the problem is. If the AM2 fuse in the engine compartment is blown, then you only have a pump failure. Not a blown engine
Ok one time I bought a car 140 miles away. I got the my old car towed to for 80 miles. Parked. Waited, then towed it another 60 miles lol. I have aaa 100 miles. Not sure if it helps your situation.
Yeah need more info: has the car been up on a hoist and a mechanic looked? Could very well be oil-starved and there's a hole in the crankcase, head gasket blown, but who knows?
