2019 Toyota Prius AWD-e vs. Subaru Impreza- Space, Safety, Performance, Ground Clearance, Price Comparison | Torque News I'm not sure where they got the 5.5" of ground clearance for the Prius AWD-e. I haven't seen any confirmed numbers (It's possible they got the numbers reversed... 5.1" or Prius and 5.5" for Impreza... 5.1 makes it the same as the E-Four version in Japan and the same as the Gen 3 Prius)
our daughter just traded her 2008 prius for a base impreza hatchback. she likes the ride, quietness and CarPlay, misses the engine off, mpg's and sks picked up the impreza with eyesight for 19k before ttl. tough to compare to the prius packages
If you try to drive with winter tires in more than 4" of snow with any car front FWD or on-demand AWD (all cars are like that) your looking for trouble and a towing ($$). A 4WD civilian not off off road modified pickup truck or similar with permanent multiple-wheel drive can go up to 6". I near from Quebec City, Canada and your boss doesn't expect you to be late for work even if the street in front of your house has 3" of snow and no snowplow in view. Furthermore, we don't drive SUV or 4WD. We drive FWD Civic, Corolla or Mazda 3 with winter tires.
Interesting comparison without saying nothing about the awd. We'll have to wait and see how Prius awd performs. Very welcome addition however! Interesting car.
there's another thread here with a video test on snow/ice hill from a stop with a little old lady driving. prius awd goes right up like it has snowshoes!
And they have full time awd, can refuel themselves and autopilot that won't send you crashing into another horse.
Or non-hazardous, non-waste - I've only been on one once - and he emitted (well, tossed me off) me within a couple of minutes. Not sure if he could go through 3' of snow, but he jumped 3' over a stick on the track which was 2" thick. I changed my vehicular tactics from then on - wheels only.
