Hi everyone. I have a 2010 Gen 3 with about 93,000 miles on it. For maybe a little less than a year, when I put the car in Park or just push the power button to off, there’s a quick beep/chirp noise that seems to be coming from maybe the back seat area, can’t really tell where. It used to be intermittent but now seems to happen nearly all the time. Now, for the past month or so, it’s making the same noise when I put it in Drive or Neutral (probably in reverse too but can’t tell due to the normal reverse beeping. I can just sit there changing modes and it chirps pretty much every time. Has anyone experienced this? I’ve searched but couldn’t find an answer. Thanks.
Yes. I've started getting the chirp on my 2016 Gen 4 when switching out of Park or from Reverse into Drive. It sounds like the beginning of the reverse beep to me.
PYTPrius, my 2010 now with 260K has been doing the same for a while, still somewhat intermittent, seems more pronounced with cold weather. I have not worked hard to diagnose it yet. I believe it has something to do with the door lock actuator for one of the rear doors. I disabled my reverse beep when I got the car so its not there to cover up noises. I would get someone in the back seat area to try and listen? I will take a deeper look at mine. Let us know if you have any luck.
