Well, Tesla is beating 600-800hp cars at the race track... And Tesla might have an advantage at 0-60mph, but more than 1000hp will likely blow past it in the end... Of course MPG is probably a few gallons per 1/4 mile. So there's that...
The fact that they used a Prius body was meant to be a joke I would guess. It wouldn't surprise me that someone didn't have a monster Tesla in the works that sound like a fire breathing dragon.
I drove a Tesla S (once). The owner told me to hold on and floor it. Between the instant full power from the electric motor, all-wheel drive and zero tire spin, they hook up just like a slot car. It was just short of terrifying. I think they would increase the appeal if it had an "exhaust" sound system.
