I'm want to get new headlight housings for my 2011 Prius 2 because they ugly and worn. I have the stock headlights now, and the only thing I've changed is the Toyota recall that keeps them from burning through the low beams frequently. I noticed that the headlight housings for 2011 only work on 2010-2011 Prius, so I searched what the differences were and it appears that the 2012-2015 headlights have LED low beams (day-time running lights)? This is attractive because I had also wanted to upgrade the low beams to LED's but was hesitant because they are the projector type and the beam pattern may be affected. The 2012-2015 are also projectors (it appears), so what's the difference there? Would this be a viable upgrade? On my 2012 the DRL is in the bumper and is an LED. The headlights in your link do not look like the factory LED headlights on my car, which have 2 LED units for the low beams and a Halogen high beam. Are you sure that projector unit is an LED and not just a Halogen headlight in a projector housing?
Only the model 5 came with LED headlights. For models 2 thru 4 on all Gen 3 years the low beam projector headlights houses a halogen bulb.
I've got a pair of used halogen headlights that came off my 2011. They are in good condition. Housings are clear with no sun damage but have normal marks from highway driving. Car is garage kept. PM me if interested.
dame3780, the lamp housings on my are starting to get pretty foggy. I would be interested in how much you plan to ask for them. Are they factory original? Why did you replace them?
