I don't see the Cool Chicks in Black Prii jumping at the chance to deface their beauties with a picture of Joe Camel. Or even Al Gore.

I actually saw one of these on the freeway yesterday. It got my attention...was very colorful...but even today, just one day later, I couldn't tell you what product it was for. I think I was just caught off guard, though I probably shouldn't have been. Out here in California, pretty much anything goes. I think that I mostly thought that it was a waste of a perfectly beautiful prius; couldn't even tell what the original color was.

I have also seen a prius taxi on the road.

Basically, I would not like to advertise unless I was highly compensated and it was for something about which I felt strongly. It is similar to the way I feel about wearing a t-shirt "advertising" anything. I am one of those who does not like putting decals ON the car; but, I did relent when it came to HOV stickers-not much of a viable alternative there. I did have it put on 3-M film first.

 

Never mind the car covered in ads...the first thing I did when I got the Pri home was to take off the license plate frames advertising the dealership.

Amen to that. It's funny, the local dealerships out here sometimes try to give you a free license plate frame when you come in for service. If you don't have a frame at all they think it's a nice cusomer "benefit." No thanks.

I WILL recommend the dealership, but will NOT advertise for them without appropriate compensation. Maybe free service...

I'm currently advertising for a dealer that's 5 states away, because i'm jsut too damn lazy to take it off... oh well, when i get my new plates, i'll do it. on a side note, i just moved here to MN and thinks it's rediculous that i'm expected to pay 500 bucks for license plates (it's based on the cost of the car, apparently), back in ohio, everyone paid the same thing every time, much cheaper than this...

 

Im just not that hard up for money.

In CA, part of the "paying" for your registration is tax, based on the purchase price of the car. And yes, that creates shenannigans on subsequent sales...

 

I signed up for one of those free car deals where a company would give you a car that had advertising on it and all you had to do was I think pay insurance and gas. I never got one but i've seen those smug people drive around in their FREE Mt. Dew PT cruiser, Aquafina PT cruiser, some company I never heard of New Bug, ect... I never got a free car! :angry:

I also tried to get my POS dodge ( The car before I got my beautiful Prius ) wrapped with an advertisement but I guess my car looked too crappy.

I would never put an advertisement on my new Prius. Well for one exception. I will put on the priuschat.com sticker when I get it. I haven't got it yet. But i'm still in no big hurry for it.

You've got that right. No ads on my beautiful black baby. They wouldn't be able to pay me enough. I didn't even want to put my parking sticker for work on the window.

 

I want one of the things that *prints* those wrappers.

What I would like to know is how those people get away with it on their windows. I cant even see inside some of them. Thats got to be more illegal than an illegal dark tint.

I would also like one of those printers. It would be easier than a custom paint job plus you could easily change it when you want.

 

apparently the windows are allowed because it's perforated. hard to see through from outside at a distance i agree, but not so bad from inside where you're closer to it.
