yeah and here is the press release. they did more than just that and no mention of Apple Carplay either!!
only took them 20 years to figure out numbers and roman numerals were clashing. might be shorter than figuring out entire stinks though.
Is there something impeding the adoption of CarPlay in the Prius? Toyota always seems to be behind on this sort of thing.
The head unit. It’s not an Entune 3.0 headunit (which appears to be the head unit required to enable CarPlay). All Toyotas that have CarPlay have the Entune 3.0 version.
The big question here is,why the hell isn't an Entune 3.0 head unit available ? Why is there no Safety-Sense 2.0 ? We are talking about the Prius here right ? So why on earth doesn't it feature the latest tech ? Despite its 4WD capability I don't think it will sell any better than the 2016 Prius which even looked way better in my opinion. They cut it's balls of !
For 2019, except for the HOV stickers on the Prime and the AWD, I'm having trouble understanding what the Prius offers over a 2020 Corolla Hybrid. The Corolla Hybrid is a Prius underneath the sheet metal, has all the latest electronic gadgets (Carplay, TSS-P 2.0), and both sit squarely in the center of the commute car market segment. Doesn't the Corolla Hybrid pretty much replace the non-Prime Prius?
Not the hatch we get here. Only 4.2 vs 3.4 l/100km - that's a huge difference. The COROLLA boot/trunk space is tiny compared with a PRIUS - it's smaller than a Yaris or Prius c. And the back-seat is small in comparison with PRIUS. And much uglier. Front looks like a snow plough or an old steam engine "cow-catcher"
