They're rare here - have a chap in my choir with one, so occasionally see it if he leaves before me. Only seen one other at night, a red one on a rainy stormy night - it blended in perfectly with the lightning display in the sky.

If it was on another car I'm sure we'd get a different reaction overall. Very slick design. It would have gone nicely with the refreshed front too.

Looking at the headlights some more there is an odd looking small light on the inside corner. Anyone know what that is? And I hope all models have the vertical LED DRL and not a blank plastic filler part. Wonder if those tiny fog lights will offer a noticeable improvement. The LED headlights are already quite powerful.

Not particularly - anything - maybe a mouth as you say.

    A Whale shark - or a Manta Ray - or a CatFish?

    It could be worse;).

You could have to look at the side of a clarity:eek:.

That could lead to a reversal of fortune after lunch .

Must say i like the new prius way moore then the current one, the current one isnt ugly, but i like the new one better. One thing that does annoy me tho... Prius is supposed to be such a high tech hybrid, but doesnt even have LED blinkers... I feel like its time to drop halogen bulbs and reflectors now... Its a small thing, but it annoys me, atleast toyota isnt as bad as BMW selling the 40 000 dollar BMW 1-series with halogen and reflector headlights tho...It would have been cool seeing the CHR LED sequential blinker strip on the prius head and taillights, make it stand out a bit more. And just made it constant flashing for u in USA cause of ur stupid "one bulb flash" rule or whatever its called that makes sequantial illegal there.
seems to be a reflector where ive made that red circle. Must be the blinker, and since its a reflector its probably halogen.... Wouldve been cool having an actual LED strip on it, but i guess toyota didnt fancy that...

And the DRL seems to be in the front bumper, this seems to not have it, which means its an option in some countries... Gotta milk money somwhere.

But it seems like there is some good news, if this indeed is the cheapest version and is LHD, it has keyless access sensor on the passenger door handle, which means no more milking money on options like keyless access on all doors.

Probably the blinker but I can't tell if it is LED or Halogen..

For sure halogen, since its a reflector, toyota didnt fancy an indicator strip on it apparently.

I would like them more if they were brake lights too. Not going to pay over $200 for the conversion kit though.

It clearly shows the blinker - at the top, the DRLs (vertical) and the supposed FogLights - down low, which is where they're supposed to be - but whether they work in fog, I'll hold my opinion till I see them - have seen very few which work properly in fog.

But thats the mandated US yellow side marker, not the blinker is it? Since its the US version they showed at the LA auto show. In AU and EU i dont think that will be lit up cause i believe we follow the same laws that says it doesnt have to be lit up?.. pre face lift has the same marker light (which u obviously know cause u own one lol), but atleast its not lit up here in Norway.

Here u see them both lit up as side marker lights, red in the rear and yellow in the front.

Or am i TOTALLY missing something here? Im getting confused lol.

And i kind of doubt those fog lights work... When i use mine in my 3rd gen in fog they only light up the fog so the fog is blending me even more lol.

Yep - Gen 4 FogLights are the same - reflect back into your eyes. I haven't seen good ones since my 1973 VOLVO 164, though the 940 were reasonable.

    This is my AU indicators:
    upload_2018-11-29_14-30-32.png

The area above, toward the outside never lights up.

The photo also has the parking (side) lights on (green "circle").

This is my AU gallery of other front lights (I think you can also have FOG+HEAD - but that would be crazy so I didn't photo it):

    1) Head+Side/Park 2) Side/Park 3) Park + FOG 4) DRL

yea, and u have the blinker under the projector, And since that yellow light we see on the pic of the blue one is the marker light, that cant possibly be the blinker/indicator? Cause that has to be in that rectangulair space i marked off? [IMG]

It feels like they took the Prius soul.
It looked exciting before and now it looks mainstream boring !
No Safety-Sense 2.0 is a bad joke since this is supposed to be their technology flagship !
Where are new features such as 360 camera, heated windshield or heated steering wheel ?
What about tire pressure being shown in the MFD ?
What about Apple Car Play or Android Auto?
Never ever have I been so disappointed in a Prius refresh !
Other than offering 4WD they have done absolutely nothing !
BTW that show yesterday at the LA Motors Show was embarrassing!
Hardly any reaction from the audience and why would there have been ?
