We are planning to start a family and also want to get a plug in hybrid. We've noted ample evidence that the Prius Prime fits carseats in the backseat, but can't find any info on whether you can also fit a stroller in the trunk or not. Anyone out there know/have experience? Thanks!
Strollers come in different sizes. Umbrella Stroller: No Problem as long as it's collapsible. You probably can lay it across the floor in front of the rear seats and not use any trunk space with no rear passengers with long legs. Full size Stroller probably not unless you can fold down one of the rear seats.
I would not recommend a Prime for carrying kids and stroller since there's only 2 back seats and not much cargo room if you want to see out the rear window. There are better alternatives out there: Clarity plugin, Pacifica hybrid, even regular Prius. I have attached pics of what a medium stroller (Chicco Liteway Plus) looks like in the back. It does take up a lot of room and raises the privacy cover a little.
I take my kid's graco stroller easily (with room for other items) in my PiP. I detach the front tray of the stroller to fit it more conveniently. Thus, I can confirm that PiP handles the Baby Strollers and even reasonable rear Baby seat space (both rear faced or front faced baby seat).
prime hatch deck is 3" higher than pip. best to take the stroller to a dealer and check it out yourself. we have a pretty decent size stroller for our grandson, and i think it would fit.
