I am about to buy this system, but from reading through the Amazon reviews, it seems that this particular model does not show the rear camera grid lines (static) when the car is put in reverse. Can anyone who has replaced their HU in a gen 4 confirm whether this is the case?
The Prius has rear camera grid lines built into the camera itself, and they cannot be turned off. Every unit you use will display the exact same grid lines since the camera is overlaying them. You will see the same grid lines as the stock head unit. If you buy a unit that has it's own grid lines, you will see both, forcing you to disable the head unit's grid lines since you cannot disable the camera's grid lines. It seems like the quality of the video is much higher than the stock head unit, even though it's the same camera.
