My US Prius have had an Auto headlight setting, where whenever you start the car, the headlights go on.
Once you stop the car and open the driver's door, a timer turns off the lights. (I set mine to 0 seconds, but I think the default is 30 seconds)

If you are legally required to have (at least) the parking lights on, that should comply with the law.

I understand that Daytime driving lights (DLR) have been mandated in Sweden for decades. So, are we talking about DLRs or parking lights? I believe your Prius, being from the EU is equipped with DLRs. I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure. If your car is equipped with DLRs, there is a way of toggling them to stay off or automatically on. This feature is in the “Set up” menu in the information/ radio console. There is also a position on the turn signal switch for the DLRs. This position sets the DLRs to come on automatically during daytime driving.

Just editorial, considering this is a multinational discussion, the acronym is DRL (Daytime Running Lights).

A dealer can make adjustments to the values for DRL and auto lights shutoff once you shutdown. Their are otherwise values which can be set which can be referenced in the owner documents.

i think he means the dealer software (tech stream) has power to change settings that you cannot do.
you would have to ask them if it is an option.
