    Hello,

Was wondering if any one has ever changed a thermostat on a 2007 prius?

I have a mechanic friend of mine that is going to help me change mine. Just had a few questions
    before doing it.
Where is it located? Is at the bottom of the engine block ? ( been a long time since I have done one since my 1983 oldsmobile and that one was on top and nothing was on the way !).

I did some research about bleeding the cooling system after changing it to get all the air out of cooling system. There is a hex bolt on top of radiator.

Any insight is greatly appreciated !

    Welcome to PC.
If you are going to replace the thermostat I would also replace the coolant pump and belt while you have the coolant drained. Instructions in the link below.

It would be helpful if you put your location in your avatar as this helps us help you.
I assume your in the US in which case the pump is available aftermarket for around $40, and the belt $10. Only use Toyota SLLC coolant when re filling the radiator,

I know this post is old, but I made a video showing how to change the thermostat. Hopefully it's gonna help a few people.
