I am going to purchase a Rockville RW10CA powered subwoofer for my car. (rockvilleaudiodotcom/rw10ca) I plan to mount it under the driver's seat, but I don't understand how to connect the amplifier to receive an audio signal. From what I understand, because the stock head unit does not have RCA outputs, I'll have to splice into the speaker outputs from the receiver (this is what I don't know how to do). My 2004 Prius has package #5, which includes the 9-speaker JBL audio system with a stock amplifier, cassette player, and 6-disk CD changer. I have attached the manual for the subwoofer model I will use. I have also attached a JBL wiring diagram I found (I don't know whether that's relevant). Could somebody please explain to me exactly and specifically how I need to make the audio connections? If this has already been explained somewhere else, please post a link. Thank you!
You need to get a line output converter. Splice into the rear speakers. And ground it thats it pretty simple just watch a vid on youtube Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
