    I do 400 a week and no knock:).

    Only happened one time and that was sitting at the Oakland airport for 13 days and upon return, it was bad:eek:.

    Even with the amount collected, I got no knock and out Prius at 189 k miles is running strong ;).

    Good luck and keep us posted (y).

    @monahj,

    I live about 2 hrs from you so I can't recommend any mechanics in your area on the Cape. However, if you are handy with basic car maintenance, you can install the OCC yourself. It's not hard to do. There are several threads that discuss the various methods of OCC installation. I installed the OCC myself while performing the EGR system cleaning, had all the engine components off. I opt to install the OCC behind the left front light fixture for easy access. Others have installed it low for better potential efficiency.

    @Raytheeagle is extremely knowledgeable with G3 Prius mechanics. Definitely follow his advice. I do myself.;)

    Good luck with you OCC installation.

    Just a posting update. Unable to get any local mechanic to install catch can.

    My inverter service was over due by 10000 miles. I have been changing the fluid every 40K. Had the fluid changed on Monday. Since Monday, I have not had any issue with the knocking on a cold or warm start up. I put on about 800 miles this week and as of today still no issues. Thanks again for the responses.

    This does not compute.

    It could be illegal in your state to modify your car with an OCC and no mechanics are not willing to install it for you so check those regulations first. In CA, you will fail state inspections if an OCC is in plain site.

    I agree it doesn't compute.

    I tried the bottle of bottle of techron fuel injector cleaner and it was still the same. I dropped the car off Sunday night so that Toyota would have the car first thing Monday morning. They got the rattle on start up, changed the inverter fluid and for the rest of the week no issues. I checked the rest of the fluids and everything is OK.

    Never heard of that, looked it up. Did anything more happen regarding that?

    Some deep reading, not sure if it'll help:
