Radiator, low mpg, and dielectric grease? Advice?

    I'm surprised they don't use catalytic converter heat for the car heater, it would be almost instant.

    Cat needs to be hot to work efficiently. Its all about emissions which when the G2 came out was the lowest emissions car available.
    Quite a marvel of engineering with many awards won.

    I have mostly finished the radiator replacement. Everything seems good so far. I still have to go through and get all the bolts tightened and in place, but it runs leak free. I used a funnel and just burped the hoses. I still need to drive and add more coolant (I used two bottles between inverter and engine, but ran out). For the inverter I drained and filled then turned the car "on" and let the inverter pump and bleed port remove the bubbles for at least five minutes. Near the end the bubbles were a minute or so apart. I will probably do another bleed after running the car a bit.

    I am getting an intermittent (2/3 starts) P1118 code which I think is either
    A. Because I haven't driven the car yet and added full coolant the sensor is not getting a temperature from hot coolant because it's low enough it isn't reaching the thermos.
    B. The sensor wiring connector may need to be cleaned.
    C. The sensor wiring is shorted out.
