When the Atlas Fire came through Santa Rosa last year, the wife’s cousin was a first responder and he had a body cam on. They ended up doing a Nightline special on the first responders and to watch what he saw was impressive. He ended up saving some of the elderly as their house was on fire. Lost his cruiser that night as it caught on fire. The Chief didn’t hold it against him.
We can't thank the firefighters & police officers enough. Down here, some creeps were dressed as Dept of Forestry workers and attempting to loot vacated homes. During every disaster, the thugs and criminals always come out!
Same is true up here. In addition to doing traffic control for the Santa Rosa fires, her cousin also was patrolling burned residential neighborhoods looking for looters . Instead of doing productive things, they are forced to keep the rif-raf in line . But they caught me and sent them where they belonged. A unique Reward for being a first responder was a private screening of the new Star Wars movie last December at George Lucas’ private estate in Marin. Event looked amazing.
