Do you happen to know what the “low income” number is for the $3,500 credit in Calif?

3 times the poverty level for your family size if I recall.......(I forgot exactly but for me it was like $88k)

 

Just to double check, do any of these state specific rebates work if you live out of state, but buy in the rebate state? Live in IN and they don't really have many Primes or any rebates so looking at out of state dealers and wasn't sure if which state really mattered. I read a few and it wasn't clear.

 

Just quoted from the CA DMV web site for HOV decal. Looks like a limitation for 2018 & newer owners regarding either just the HOV decal or CA Rebate.

"Note: For a vehicle purchased on or after January 1, 2018, the DMV cannot issue a CAV decal to an applicant who has received a consumer rebate through the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP). "

 

No, please don't put that interpretation on it. When I called the rebate reps, they said that is only if you have a VERY high income level. They immediately agreed that the language is confusing, but it is only if you earn a LOT of money. Besides which, I don't think they coordinate and share information, so I doubt either agency would know what the other was doing, especially if you applied for both at the same time.

Just applied for the State of Texas $2500 rebate for plug-ins. Oddly, Tesla’s excluded.
Can back date plug-in purchases made in 2017.

Not odd since the rebate requirements state that you have to purchase it new from a Texas dealer. Teslas were excluded last time too.

 

Dealers in Texas (and some other states) bought a law from their state legislature that prohibits direct car-manufacturer-to-user sales. Tesla has refused to set up a dealership network, and thus one cannot buy a Tesla in Texas.

 

Since we're on the Texas grant topic. Just bought our prime and applied for same grant. With +4502 fed tax credit this year we had to pull the trigger

 

Congrats. How much of a discount off MSRP are dealers selling them for now?

 

Unfortunately we didn't get anything off msrp. According to the dealer Toyota doesn't allow them to offer discounts on the prime. They tried to get us into a Prius instead because they could work the price on those. But with govt incentives we get it for 21k basically and we get 6 months unlimited charging for only 25$ from our city energy co

 

Looks like the Fed tax credit may expire in Dec and the prime is not in the $7500 category. If Kia pulls off the new EV in Nov then that will be an option for me with the $7500 fed tax credit.

 

Can someone list the top 3-5 states that give the best incentives for out of state purchases? I live down in Florida but would like to take advantage of the other states incentives. Thanks in advance!

just got an email from toyota stating that the mass $1,500. ev rebate ends 12/31. this comes as a surprise.

i might be forced to take the deal at dch milford toyota

 

just looked it up, ma is going to bev and fool cell only rebates. they don't even know what a fool cell is, they just copy california. never had an original thought in their political lives.

 

Now whose gravity do you want to get pulled into, us (CARB/Mary Nichols) or the alternative?

AFAIK we are still keeping our CA PHEV state rebates the same next year.

 

i'm having a hard time parting ways with pip, she's nearly the perfect car. did a 20 mile trip today, 10 miles ev, 10 miles gas. good to run the engine once in awhile.

and got some heat on the second half
