We don't have the technology package. I don't believe the technology package was available on the fours .. the dealer had to search for a base five on both occasions. I did not want the hub caps -- and wanted the LED's .. so, it was worth the extra cost. We still have both

Yeah I recall walking around an (indoor) lot, all these Prius with 15" rims and covers, and it was "No Sir, I don't like it".

Still, I like the 15" wheel size, better for mpg, cushier ride, replacement tires cheaper. Just wish they'd drop-kick the wheel covers. 2012 Plug-In Prius managed to have some nice bare rims in 15".

I have a 2010 base edition that is now getting about 43 MPG. This after getting new Bridgestone Ecopia 422 tires (which is what I had b4), new brakes rotors and pads, a newer 12v battery, and new air filter. I used to get 50 mpg when new. Same hypermiling driving style. I just think the HV battery doesn’t hold a charge as well as it used to after 8+ years and 115,000 miles and it borrows energy from the combustible engine moreso than it used to . I don’t work as well as I used to either!

Your egr circuit probably also needs a good cleanse;).

Tackle that and recondition the hv battery and you’ll be back around 50 mpg would be my bet(y).

Thanks Ray! I think Nutz about Bolts has a video on the EGR cleaning. Do you have a link or some info regarding the reconditioning of the battery?

@jeff652 is a member here and runs http://www.hybridautomotive.com

I have their setup and share it with 2 other members here in our geographical area:).

Once the harness is installed, the reconditioning process is easy ;).

    Hope that helps (y).

The leaf was just stuck on there, one time when my wife rolled it into the garage, on a rainy/windy day, so I snapped a picture.

Doing the caliper brake pin lub at @Raytheeagle garage, he found a leaf stuck on one of the brake pads on my prius. Was having brake squeaks at the time, but it wasn't the leaf causing the squeak

Just an update (which may help others), since replacing the brakes/rotors and replacing the engine air filter and cabin air filter, my MPG has gone from 43 to 54 MPG! Not sure which had the biggest impact as I did them all at about the same. I suspect the breaks may have been a big problem as the caliper pins were all seized on both rears

I'd concur: probably brake drag. A well used engine air filter almost improves mpg: reduces air capacity slightly.

47.6 MPG in my recently purchased 2010 Prius IV with 62,000 miles. Measured using odometer reading and gallons consumed rather depending on the built-in gas consumption display. Still a rookie Prius driver who is learning how to optimize gas consumption using driving techniques featured on Prius Chat.

So I just finished vacationing with a Mustang GT rental and this is how a Prius-type driver did for the week:
