excessive blow by, + head gasket

    Still, I wonder about the piston revision. To follow the TSB to the letter you replace them also. And check the crankshaft with plastigauge.

    What might the piston revision be? Even if the rings are compatible, the new piston must be advantageous in some way.

    I appreciate the piston replacement is significantly more expensive, and more difficult. The TSB suggests a machine shop for separating the pistons, installing the new.

    And for all of this, 16.6 hours, IIRC...

    If i had to do it again. I would buy a 4th gen motor and put it in. Same price as a 3rd gen with realllllly low miles. Like this one I found on eBay. 16000 miles(y)(y)(y)

    I agree that there's some benefit. But not 200rs worth for me. I'm following danlatus steps, and hoping my first rebuild goes as well as his
