How do you reset ABS light & yellow ((!)) ?

    No go. Wondering if it is a wiring problem with the connector.

    How do you know if the ABS system isn't working?

    You might want to start your own thread in one of the Gen 3 forums (your 2013 persona is a Gen 3), where you will get responses from people with more experience on that generation of Prius.

    Also, it would help your post if you were to harvest all the codes that have been set in the various ECUs. Brake problems are many and varied and you can either end up chasing your tail, or spend good money on parts and then time replacing the existing part with that new part to find out that the existing part is not faulty.

    You have alluded also to the fact it might not be a faulty part at all, but damage (or something else) related to a connector or wire(s). Getting the codes is a good first step in narrowing down the possibilities.

    my guy MAXAT HYBRID in sacramento replaces all that for 650.00 to 85o.00 part # 4450047140 the dealerships here wanted 3000.00 also. the dealerships wanted 1700 just for the part. If I move back to canada I have to dump my prius as there are ONLY toytoa shops up there to work on them and I can not do that.

    I used the paperclip trick to pull the blink codes from my lights

    (!) 66 abs 42 vcs 45

    i just replaced my traction battery but these codes remained. i cant seem to reset them but i dont think anything is actually wrong

    any ideas?

    I'm getting these same lights after replacing a front right brake caliper that was froze up (and NOT disconnecting the 12V battery, uugg! wish I would have read this first!).

    I'm getting all the lights the OP described along with the red "emergency brake" light and codes C1203 and C1345 from Techstream.

    I think I have tried all the suggestions so far including:

    Trying to reset with Techstream eraser at bottom of screen, and "memory reset" under Utility.

    Shorting out pin 4 to 13 on the OBD-II (lights briefly go off for a few seconds after pumping breaks 8 times as described then come right back on blinking erratically)

    Disconnecting the 12V battery with steering wheel strait.

    Running through the Techstream bleeding. Although I did remove the wrong relays the first time around (small green ones instead of blue square ones) But I did run through the program again (without actually bleeding but removing the correct blue square ones this time)

    The car is running fine other than not having regen with active breaking (still getting regen wile coasting) I know this because I'm monitoring with the Dr. Prius app.

    The C1345 means it wants the linear solenoid offset learning program to be done. It won't go away until you do that.

    Some of the other C codes could be related to the order in which you removed relays. I think I would learn the solenoid offset, then check again whether the other codes can be reset. Otherwise, it'll be a matter of finding the workup sections for those codes in the repair manual (more info) and following those steps.

    Wow is worked! It literally took 2 minutes once I found this in Techstream, I spent half the day pulling my hair out yesterday trying everything else and that was all it took. Thanks soo much!

    For others reading with this issue using Techstream (why would any Prius owner not have this?) the Linear Valve Offset learning program is found buy clicking "ECB Utility" within the ABS/VSC/Trac Utility menu.

    And also for others reading ... the trouble code C1345 is what means you have to do that. If you have code C1345, this procedure is what you need.

    If you are here because you have "ABS light and yellow ((!))" and you're thinking "hey! here's a thread about the 'same problem'!" as people often do, read your trouble codes first. If you don't have C1345 then you don't have the 'same problem', and this procedure won't help you. Read the trouble codes.

    Thank you Paul! I had pushed the rear brake piston in while repairing the rear brakes and then found the BRAKE, ABS, and ((!)) lights on, but NOT the VSC light. There were not DTC codes, and I was stumped until I found this. The Toyota service manual would have had me replace the whole brake/skid ECU. This fixed all the lights in 5 minutes!

    Actually, after completing the brake service, the service manual would have you clear any brake-related codes and then check to see if any new codes set. The paper clip trick you used is simply another way to clear the codes if you don't have access to Techstream.

    Hope your still a member a respond to this old post. does paperclip to jumper 4 and 13. I depress the brake and press start to see "Ready" on the dash. Reset the ecm on 2010 Prius? I have permanent code I need to remove.

    What is the permanent code?

    Generally, you fix the problem first then clear the codes, so if you haven't fixed the underlying cause of the code you can't clear it.

    The idea behind "permanent" codes is that they are not clearable, but they will go away on their own at some point after you have fixed the problem, depending on how long the ECU needs to prove to itself that the problem is fixed.

    There are a bunch of different ECUs in the car, and not all of them have a notion of "permanent" codes. (Some of the others have "history" codes, which don't work exactly the same way.)

    What's the code?
