We were a part of that survey at Consumer Reports. Two 2015 Prius c automobiles that have been perfect!

Not at all surprised. I'm really enjoying my 2014 C. It has gotten to the point that I only use my 2010 Prius when I need to haul something large. 20180728_175951.jpg

And yet they will not be made anymore after the 2019 model year.
Too hard to jack up the price and increase the margin.

And people seem to want SUVs and pickup trucks.

Ford will stop making all "cars" except for the Mustang.

All this is very sad......and in my opinion stupid.

I'm right there with you. I agree 100% that it's foolish to discontinue this car. Is 2019 the last year world-wide, or just in America?

I was told by a Toyota dealership that it's been a slow seller, and I don't understand that either. I also read (somewhere) that Toyota was very unhappy with the EPA estimates, because real-world mileage is actually higher than the EPA estimates.

I know with a minimum of care, I am consistently getting high 50s/low 60s mileage. And that's phenomenal.

The Priussy is a darned good car, but it's also very expensive for a Yaris sized hatch.

It's not foolish to discontinue a vehicle that doesn't sell. Especially when only a few thousand were even sold last year in the US. They also have the Corolla hatchback coming out. To be honest, I personally don't look for Toyota to continue the Prius line with so many of their current models going hybrid. They make keep "a" Prius, but not so many versions of it.

So I take it that you don't like my new Ford truck, Sam?? I can't fit in a C. :ROFLMAO: 6'-4", 270 lbs.
I'm still squeezing into my '16 Prius. (For now.) Its my back-up.

I saw a couple of them yesterday. Pretty sharp looking and decent estimated fuel economy.
I think your other guess likely will be right.

    That's not it at all.

I farmed off and on for about 40 years......and had a truck those years when I needed one......but never really considered having one when I really had no good reason to.

I considered the C before getting a Volt.

Imagine an alternate universe where the Prius C Became the Prime and the Gen IV stayed hybrid?

I'm just joking, Sam. As usual. That is my girlfriend's new truck. I couldn't afford the gas for that big beast! I'm sticking with my Prius,

American sales of the c don't justify much differentiation from the JDM product. We get more or less whatever is already a hot seller in Japan, flipped to left-hand drive.

The c is still selling very well in Japan, so there's no worry about the car being discontinued. It just isn't popular in the USA, and there's no reason for it to be. It's a subcompact and it isn't the cheapest in its size range. It might as well be invisible.

The VW beetle sold 1 million units in its first 10 years. The c is on track to do 2 million in 8.

Most of those were apparently in the Tampa Bay area. They are everywhere!

OK, well that might be a perfect example of my point.

Is she in agriculture, ranching, construction or the delivery business ?
If not (or something similar) why does she HAVE a truck.......except that she just WANTS one ??

    Maybe not precise enough:
The C will be discontinued IN THE US after the 2019 model.

You might very well be right about other markets.

In general, US consumers are short-sighted and just stupid.

I knew there was a reason why I chose a Prius C as the perfect compliment to my Tundra! Love 'em both! :)

I have both #1 and #2 cars in this list. If you ask my opinion , 2012 PriusC is more reliable then 2010 GX. Also , I disagree with CR about small size of PriusC. It is really roomy. And prior to purchasing my car, I actually measured that PC can accommodate inside for these two scenarious:
    - fishing trip - 2 adults, fishing poles, 36 inch cooler and some extras.
    - ski trip - 2 adults, 1 teen , skis, boots,...

Well of course they are. They've already declared they're not going to continue the line... that's the kiss of death. Check out the Ford cars, I bet you'll see the same.
