Hellow Prius Friends. I've seen and fixed most of the Prius codes - but this is a new one. Nothing seems really wrong with the car, except I can't start the car with the push button. I have to put the FOB in the slot by the steering wheel. These are the error codes on my App - P0A1D, U0100, U0293 Any ideas?
The 12V could be the issue? So, look at the 12v and then re-read the codes? Should I re-charge the 12v?
how old is it? test it in the morning with a volt meter, then charge it if it is below 12.5 if it won't hold, replace it
The car is 2006. The 12v is at least 5 years old. I'll recharge it. I tried looking at old posts - some talked about a computer, but there are so many computers on the car, I didn't know what to go after.
low hanging fruit. if it is not the 12v or fob battery, you will have to look up the codes in the service manual.
Do you have the associated INF(s) or subcode(s) for that thrown DTC P0A1D, there are over 20 INF's for this DTC. Knowing which INF (subcode) can help efficiently track down a problem. You may need access to a compatible OBD2 device to retrieve such. Here is the work up for DTC U0100 and DTC U0293: https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Prius%20Service%20Manuals%202004/%E4%BF%AE%E7%90%86%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8C/04pruisr/05/20zmw/ciu0100.pdf
I have Toyota Techstream on my computer, I'm assuming that will show an INF Subcode. What would be an example of the INF Subcode?
Yes, techstream will work perfectly. INFs (subcodes) follow a three digit format, like "143". . Check in the scan results for an flower like icon between the 'Monitor Status' and the 'DTC' columns, click it. Below is an image with a DTC (P312F) circled in red, to the left of that is the icon you're looking for.
