Is it a pain to plug in everyday?

    Do you current owners ever get tired of having to plug your prime in everyday or every night?

    everyday at work. i have to run down to unplug it and move.

    It's not a pain. At home it would be though. I don't leave the charging chord out so It would require me to take it out of my car.

    Is plugging in your phone every day a pain?
    I don’t have a Prime, but I do have a car I plug in every day. I find it no more inconvenient than opening the car door.

    I plug my Leaf in every day, almost all day. Where ever it is parked and there is power, it's plugged in. I don't even have an L2 EVSE, I just use the "emergency charger" (L1 EVSE) that came with the car and let it charge up to 100%.

    The girls don't plug in every day, work is only 6 miles round-trip. If they forget, they use some gas. At 105 mpg, think how often they are not pumping gas in the dark.

    My daughter and her spouse both work 12 hour graveyard shifts as RNs 7 PM to 7 AM, they do not have the same schedule so they only ride together 2/3 of the time. The younger sister works swings as a CNA, 2PM to 7 PM. All the same hospital.

    i can't imagine what would be a pain. if you don't have a cord, get one. takes all of 10 seconds if you're set up for it.
    i don't have a prime, but i would think all plug ins would be the same.

    For me it can be a pain since I can only charge at work and It takes 12 minutes round trip to get the car out of the spot when complete and back to my desk. The times when I can't get a charge station spot when I arrive, I go on the waitlist and then go back out when my turn. And then I have to move it out of the spot when complete, so it is twice I had to leave my desk. I don't really mind much because it is worth it. I also get extra steps on my Fitbit.

    No Prime here, but I've been plugging in over six years now. It becomes second nature.

    The ladies I visited charged in their garage, which is dry, warmer, well lit, and not windy. You mostly pump gas in the weather.

    Not at all, takes less than a minute and gives me gas mileage that's unreal.

    Not a pain forme.I plug in after every trip. But I work from home, and only plug in at home. I don't bother to plug in anywhere else. That's why I have a hybrid.

    I use the lvl 1 and with my setup now it takes under a minutes to get the cord, plug into the wall, and into the car. Charging schedule takes care of thr rest.

    In a few weeks I have an electrician coming to install a new outlet in the garage on the proper side of the car with a switch so I'm estimating about 20 secs to flip the switch, play out the cord a couple feet, and plug in. Doesn't get much easier than that.

    And every time I plug in I reduce the need to stop at a gas station, saving time.

    I have a short commute so generally get 2 days of driving from a charge, but I plug in every evening so I have the muscle memory. I keep the cable plugged into the outlet - in fact I have it locked in, since I’m in a condo shared garage. As others said, it takes maybe 30 seconds. I’d much rather plug in daily than pump gas weekly, especially in Minnesota in the winter.

    Sounds good... great points about how quickly you get it done as opposed to trips to gas station...

    It is only a pain if you forget to plug-in. You develop a habit:
    • Exit car
    • Plug-in
    • Take groceries, dogs, or stuff(*) into the house

    I plug-in only at home overnight, and only if I have a trip planned the day after (I don't use the car on daily basis) because the traction battery does not like to sit fully charged.

    Sometimes, in the summer, with the right weather and enough parking time, I do not plug-in at all, because the solar panel on the roof is taking care of the job (it charges the battery i@90% in 5 days)

    However, I can't deny that plugging-in itself is a nuisance, essentialy because if you don't follow correctly the plug cap in/out procedure you risk to damage/block the lid. IMO Toyota could have done it better..

    It probably depends on charge station set-up. If you have charge cord in a garage, and you always park your car in the garage right next to the charge station, then a few seconds of time to plug-in would be no more pain than any routine. That may be different if you have to drag out 30 feet charge cord and plug-in outside and after charge is done has to store away the cord in safe place. I do my charging on my driveway but luckily it is close enough to the building I keep my cord, getting the cord in and out is not as bad, and I don't mind it.
