I'm in the market for a used Prius- I've never owned one before, so I have no experience with them. I'm looking at a 2015 Toyota Prius Model Two, Base/Persona (I have 2 papers from the dealership with each of those names on it-does that make sense?) from the dealer with 106170 miles on it and one reported accident with no information, but it looks like the front bumper was replaced because one side of it is loose-something they'll fix before I buy it. And there is a mark on the side of the back door that looks like it was patched up by the original owner, but that they'll fix before I get it too. I saw the car before they did any adjustments. The accident and high miles seem like possible red flags, but I could use some advice! Thank you!

My advice would be to have an independent mechanic that works with hybrids look at it to be on the safe side. If possible, also try to look up old service records (assuming it was serviced at a Toyota dealership, ask the service department about it) and see what kind of repairs were initially made after the wreck.

    Thanks!

Yes, it is. I’m also eyeing a 2013 82K mile Prius V from a small non- Toyota dealership, but this 2015 Prius is from a Toyota dealership

    base/persona does not make sense.

it is important to know exactly what was damaged and repaired after an accident.

high mileage simply means there are less miles for you before a major repair. you should get a discount for that.
the battery has a 10 year/ 150,000 mile warranty in massachusetts. whichever comes first.

you can enter the vin into the toyota owners site for service history.

Seems like a ton of miles for something that new, but if the price is right.... Too bad your so far from me. My Prius C is for sale, it's a 2016 and only has 24k on it.

I always say BUYER BEWARE....my 2014 has been amazing...I still only have 42,000 on her and she runs perfect....I bought her used but was very suspicious and had all the service records and a car fax report on hand before I took the leap...my friend bought a used Prius c then played bumper cars on a freeway...the damage to her Prius C didn't look bad but her insurance company said because of all the electrical components in front that it was a total loss....it went to auction I'm sure...she went back to an older larger Toyota
