Just purchased my 1st Prius v trim 3. I’m wanting to lower it with some 18” 225-45-18 wheels/tires. I can’t seem to get the correct info. I know the body panels change after 2014, but not sure of suspension. I’ve found some a couple brands but they say it fits from 2011-2015, 2015-2017, etc. this is confusing me. Can you tell me if they say 2011-2015 that the coilover system will fit my car? Any recommendations on some coilover sets. I’ll be daily driving and don’t mind stiff rides,etc...
Two thoughts: 1) By going with a 225/45-18 Plus 2 wheel/tire upgrade, you'll get about ~5mm's (~0.20") more fender filling when compared to a 205/60-16 for a slightly fuller tire/fender look. This gives the illusion of lowering your chassis. 2) Give good consideration to lowering springs, though not adjustable, they're progressive in design. Progressive lowering springs are typically more enjoyable for DD usage when compared a coilover system that uses Linear springs that are found on most coilover setups. If your dampers are in good condition, lowering springs are roughly 3 to 4 times Less the cost. Read this & study the pictures: Lowering Springs on Prius v | PriusChat Rob43
Joel, I have the tanabe coil over early version. I don't recommend it. I find mine to be very soft and its hard to get support from the company itself. I lost one of the strut nut and when I called them.. they say they don't have those in stock or have them availabe. Sean
