1st E-Supercharged Prius Build, WIP/doesn't work......

He's only selling the supercharger setup. According to Fox, Lexus had him take off the mods he did for them and crushed the car.

 

And the brakes are for sale too...

This all should be another thread, but there wasn’t really one available and this setup had been mentioned in the thread prior.

Mods: feel free to move these comments to a new thread if necessary.

Do you have the supercharger bits around still in case someone else wants to try?

 

With the stated 6psi of boost, either sounds like a jump (given an OEM of 98hp for the ICE, and combined 134hp w/ electric).

 

It seems much too good to be true

'Fraid so. It has seemed to have carried a bad rap with it too, at least what I've seen with the Jalopnik crowd.

 

V8 car so uninteresting. Much rather say a factory motor w/ a turbo thrown on

 

Ive talked to that guy on Instagram. He refuses to provide any info on how he did it and never posts shots of him under boost for more than a split second

 

He has new video of his exhaust and you can definitely hear the turbo spool...just can't tell if he's been able to build much boost pressure.

Just because you can hear a turbo spinning doesn't mean it's doing anything.

All of his videos are careful to never show the boost gauge and when they do it spikes to a very low psi and then immediately back to zero or vacuum.

In addition, he never posts speed runs. You'd think if you had a fast Prius you'd want to show off how fast, right?

The ones he did post on a highway are about what a stock Prius will do so I'm not convinced his setup is any better than what was tried here.

 

Oh I’m not vouching... I agree, there is no proof of actual positive boost pressure of over 1psi.

Nor proof of him truly running nitrous either... from his install photos on IG.

 

I mean I hope its legit but why would one go thru do much to do something that don't work
