For the past couple of days my 2006 Prius has not been giving me incorrect speed information. I am actually going 35 m.p.h and it tells me that I'm going 80. There have been a couple of other problems. My empty fuel light was blinking but it only took 8.5 gallons. My blue tooth connection is not working properly as well. It is always saying that I am out of range. When I am stopped, the speedometer reads 0 to 17 m.p.h. Any ideas??? The service tech. cannot see my car for a week and a half. HELP!!! (please?!) Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Marie @ Aug 11 2006, 12:36 PM) </div> that's definitely not good. why on earth can't they see your car for a week and a half? for cryin' out loud. call another dealership and have them look into it- having to wait a week and a half for that is ridiculous. nothing too out of the ordinary there- happens to me about every time i fill up.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(seasalsa @ Aug 11 2006, 01:48 PM) </div> Yes, I checked. The scarier part to me is when it says I am moving but I am at a complete stop. I can try another dealer but here in the boondocks there aren't so many options. I was hoping someone might have seen something like this to ease my worried mind.
Sounds like you need to reboot the computer. I am not sure if there is any reason not to do this on the Prius, but on all other vehicles, you disconnect the main battery for at least a few minutes. You then reconnect it. This usually resolves a lot of the computer related issues. However, you may want to PM someone like Galaxee to ask him if you can safely do this on the Prius. Mike

The dealer mentioned leaving the car all day as it might take 5 hours or more to determine the problem(s). Not a pleasant thought for me. They are willing to drive me home, but I lead a busy life and sitting at home all day is rarely an option.
You really should try disconnecting the 12V battery under the righthand cover in the trunck area. You really have nothing to lose and it might just solve the problem. You will however lose all the problem codes when you do this so when you do get it into the dealer they won't get any error codes.
