Most annoying thing about the prius?

DH does this, with the same beliefs, and I am CENTIMETERS close to refusing to drive ANYWHERE with him in the driver's seat. "...careful when I drive recklessly..." is the giveaway here...

I do not know, maybe it is because, at five foot nothin', I have never been able to manage this maneuver, but it still makes me NUTS!

Jeez. Talk on the cell phone until you get over the impulse to take both hands off the wheel, ok? <_<

 

Without a doubt: The POOR Treo 650 Bluetooth issues with the Prius. When a new call comes in, both calls are dropped and sometimes the second call will come back through. AAARRRGH!

Actually - I hadn't thought about the shift lever that way. You're right.

I just hate the AC system in general and like to whine about it. I guess I'd prefer if it would leave it where I left it and not try to help me out. <_<

I've been using a. & b. for years. I will add one comment to your "blindspots are gone" statement. The driver's side mirror, aligned as indicated, allows the driver to see the front bumper and fender of a passing vehicle in his peripheral vision just before it is out of view in the side mirror. Therefore a passing vehicle is either always seen in a mirror or directly at all times.

 

Tiny little annoyance: the little plastic circle in the center of the inside roof (does it help keep the liner up or something?). Everytime I look out the right side window (e.g., at an intersection), it catches my peripheral vision and distracts me, as if there's an insect there or something.

Wow. You hit it dead on. I have noticed this same issue. I have also noticed the A/C seems to really pull down my charge which hightens this unpredicability.

I am so glad you mentioned the rattles from the ceiling and doors!!! Every day on the way home from work I go over in my head what exactly I could say to the people at Toyota service to get them to get rid of all of the rattles and creaks, without sounding like a neurotic freak!!

Traction control, I exerience that very often also! Strange, maybe there is something in the air here in Texas.

What do you mean about not being able to see the tire pressure?

Justin, here in Dallas, where there is a huge whole in the Ozone layer we can just forget ever not needing the A/C !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it really screws the MPG!!!!!!!!!

you can pop the plastic part of the wheel covers off. Somewhere on here there are clear directions with photos that show how to do it. Basically you just pull and they come right off. The wheels look much better wothout them!

I love my Prius... after 21k in one year, it has changed the way I drive and think...However.

1 The smooth plastic on the window sills is easily scratched. It is already showing wear from my watch, yes I like to hang my arm out the window

2 As mentioned before, the MFD is hard to see during the day. but it is also too bright at night. It seems as though when you use the rheostat the HUD is smooth in its transition but the MFD has only three levels (bright, kinda-dim, off). Also not all lights are dimmed in the HUD. I cant remember exactly which ones (I remember the Cruise light is "perma-bright"), but I know there are a few others as well. Also, those of you that like the HUD bright at night can expect it to reflect in the windshield at the worst possible place. This can really be annoying. I do have to say that the laser beams the head lights put out, especially on high-beam, probably makes our own Sun jealous, and more than makes up for this

3 Last but not least...I am annoyed that I am hooked on this thing! It's midnight, my wife has long since gone to bed and I am up cruising PC in hopes of finding a small nugget of information that will save me .001 MPG. I've never spent so much time on any of my previous cars, but alas, I know its a step in the right direction.

I've found the backup camera display to be bright. A few times I've put it in reverse on a particularly dark night, and the light from the screen (since the camera is also picking up the backup lights) wrecked my night vision.

On most cars, if not all, that have auto-locks, it can be disabled. I have had it on several previous cars.

My Chrysler unlocks all doors when either front door is opened from the inside.

What cracks me up about autolock, and power locks in general, is how stupid it has made people. I know people that have been driving for decades and grew up knowing how to lock and unlock a car door from the inside. Even kids knew how to do it. But now it seems most rear seat pax go braindead when the doors lock. Upon reaching a destination, if the driver does not remotely unlock the doors for them, these folks will all act like they are imprisoned in the vehicle. It is really rather funny sometimes.

I know what you mean, and an equally entertaining situation:
Parked car, no keyles entry, windows down, doors locked.
Passenger (who rides in the car quite often) walks up and waits, while watching the driver reach inside and unlock the door manually.
Passenger continues to wait for the driver to unlock the doors (manually or via power unlock button), when they could've just as easily reached inside and done it themselves.

Made even more entertaining when said car is either a convertible or has t-tops and the top is open to boot.

A few times I've just sat down and looked at my passenger to see how long they'll wait before saying something to me...

back on topic, my complaints would be the "premium" JBL stereo is far from it, and the fact that my passengers can't enter destination info while the car is mobile.

You have a '05 Prius? Then you can.

There is a override, that requires no major skill, outside of pushing on the right part of the screen. As in, correct part.

I think if you look up MFD override, you should find it. I use it all the time on both my Hybrids.

 

Lack of power drivers seat on such a high tech vehicle is ridiculous! Secondly,the crappy fabric used on the arm rests & console cover. And... one last item . I am 6' 3" tall and these "mini"sunvisors are useless when
needed to block the side window area. They are way too short for a person that needs the seat all the way back! Why not a visor design like GM vehicles have had for years. A simple plastic extension that adds about 4 inches to the length,and blocks glare all the way over to the door pillar.
And did I mention NO power seat ?? lol

Instead of putting the RV mirror upside down, just adjust the mirror post. The post swivels in the windshield mount joint just like the mirror swivels on the other end of the post. Push the post upward toward the roof as far as it will go then adjust the mirror swivel to desired angle.
