Looking to buy an Android Head unit for my 2004 Prius with JBL and as there are so many different types of Android head units I am not sure exactly which one to buy that will work in the 2004 mk2 with JBL?

There are single DIN and double DIN so can anyone advise with a link to one maybe on ebay or Aliexpress as I want to also keep the cost reasonable.

Wow, looks like not many people have done this, impossible to find out what to go for without purchasing first then it seems!!!

I have just bought a Gen 2 T Spirit, and one of my first jobs will be to fit my existing android HU in.

a, If I can get it to work.

b, I do not lose too much functionality.

I have a single din unit, I am not sure if a double din will fit.

If I get anywhere I will report back.

I've been looking at the Pumpkin units sold on Amazon for use in my old Subaru. I figured out how to set one up in addition to the stereo, rather than in place of it.

I haven't bought one yet, but they certainly caught my eye.

Would be great to get some guidance as I cannot understand why more people have not done this in their Prius as it seems to add lots of functionality without much cost if you can get the right one!

All radios should fit. Single din and double din.

The problem isn't about which ones will work/fit, it's about using the correct wiring harness to allow them to work.
For starters, you will need a wiring harness that works with the JBL amps. (See link)

You will then need the dash kit to make it fit (See link)

If you want the steering wheel controls to work you need A steering wheel controls adapter (See link)

Then decide on which Android radio you want. I prefer the double din versions. Looks better, and no motorized monitor to break or wear out.

    Hope this info helps.

Ok. So the family member who bought my old car wants to keep the android HU installed. Which saves me a lot of hassle stripping it out. Therr are a LOT of wires on an android HU. Anyway, what that means is that I can get a new one :D
Apparently you don't need the steering control adapter as you can program the wiring from the android head unit anyway

Any way you can bypass this as the price of all the wiring harnesses is nearly more than the price of the actual Android Head Unit!?

Just wondering if there has been any further movement in adding an Android HU to the Mk2 with JBL?

I see prices have now come down even more and I was going to try it but is there anyway to just bypass the JBL stuff so you don't have to buy the expensive harness?

Also has anyone completed this recently and would have an example of the unit they installed and also any instructions for completing the job?

TY Delane for the info and links, Rubarb for the info on the steering controls, and reni for asking the question.

Delane, after checking one of the latest Pumpkin units, it looks as if they're all RCA's in the back. However, checking the image on the TYTO unit for the JBL amp, it looks to be a single harness. Could you explain more?
