Hello, Looking to see if anyone is selling a 2" prius hitch. Considering the ecohitch, but seeing if anyone has one they want to part ways with first? Thanks, Craig

Installing a hitch on a Prius is a bad idea on so many levels.

Ok, I've read where plenty of people have done without issues. We live just a few miles from our local trails and it (the hitch) would only be holding a couple of lighter weight mountain bikes plus the rack. Please share your thoughts. Thanks!

I have a 2012 Prius V and I was able to get a hitch from Torklift Central.
They sent me the kit, and I found a place in Pittsburgh to install the Hitch.
Since you live a few hours from them, you could probably get them to do the
install. I have had my hitch for 5 years and I have not had any issues using
    it with my bike rack.

Yes, I emailed them and they got back quickly. Seem like straight forward people. If I don't find one on here I might just stop by and see them on my next trip to Portland.

I had the Ecohitch 2" on my 2012 v. It was perfect for hauling around bikes. Install was super easy, as well.

This has nothing to do with a 2" or Class II hitch, the Class II will get you into trouble because you will think you can.

I converted a Class I off a Ford Focus then built the rack out of scrap metal but then "I was born to Modify". The rack has been modified to be the rear support for the Grumman Canoe for my V, utilizing the Towing Bolt holes in the front for the front portion of the rack as I abhor putting holes in roofs for luggage racks.

I use the ecohitch 2” as well and it works fine. The biggest issue with its use is if you pull a heavy load especially down hill where regen maxs out and your brakes have to do all the work. Then there is a possibility of brake overheating. For bike racks it is great, easy on off and nothing touching the paint.
