Sun visor extender custom 3D printing

If he has put the files on thingiverse or another sharing site, I could easily print this.

 

Nice idea. Betcha that tape doesn't hold long.

 

A few inches doesn't quite do the job right. A longer piece of plastic/cardboard (held by a rubber band or two) has been working perfectly for me for more than ten years. Can also angle it to catch every bit of sun.

 

I did find the files. The issue is, and of course I am no opposed to printing it, they suggest ABS and I only use PLA. I'll still print it if you want.

 

This is perfect. What do you charge to make them?

 

I don't think PLA will withstand the temperatures you get in a car when it's parked in the sun.

 

Yes, in the sun needs a plastic which is designed for sun exposure. Remember the melting car dashboards of 10 years ago (Camry was one, but Nissan also, I believe). When I hear journalists talk about "soft touch" plastics in cars - I immediately grin to myself, thinking about this.

 

Maybe it's time to start a repository for Prius related 3D print files.....

I can see some PC themed, 3D printed swag in the storefront being a fairly big thing....

 

I'm in as well, it would be worth it. I have no idea why Toytota makes the sun visors only cover a fraction of the window, it's ridiculous. My only guess is they don't have the Sun problems we can have in places other than Japan.

 

Will these fit Gen4 too? Perhaps @Tideland Prius can offer an opinion since he has both in his stable.

 

Confused. My 2019 came with extenders.

 

That was a change for 2019.
