I was driving home last night and i went to use my high beams and nothing happened no flash of light nothing. I was doing some looking and saw that some people said that it could be that both of the bulbs burnt out at the same time, but in all of those instances they saw the light then it went out. They were working fine the night before. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and if there was any other solutions. Also, the other day it was raining quite hard and i was using the low speed windshield wipers, i went to turn the high speed on the they stopped completely in the middle of the windshield. it showed signs of trying to move but it just stayed there, when i put them back on low they started again! Any ideas??
Are both of those functions on the same "stalk" ? Either way, you might have a loose connector along the steering column somewhere.
They are two different stocks. That is why i can confused if was on the same stock i would replace it and see if that helped.
It is a STALK. And even if they are different, the wires might be in a common connector somewhere down the steering column.
Signal therefore is getting from the stalk to the body ECU. Problem is further downstream. Matter of testing and eliminating, possibly with help of the wiring diagram. -Chap
Put a test light on the hi beam wire at the bulb, and LOOK at the bulb and see if it's burned out. Turn the lights on and see if the test light lights. If it does, you know the bulbs are burned out. If it doesn't light, you know you have some other problem.
I have 80K, I got some new light bulbs and changed the bulbs, turns out they both just blew at the same time! I just think that it is weird that they both went out at the same time!
I still don't understand the wiper problem i am going to have the dealership look at it. Since i work for the local Toyota Dealer.
Usually one is already out and you don't catch it and then the other one goes out. You haven' t jumped the car recently have you? Where I used to work they would jump company trucks and use their 24 volt jump pack and if the headlight switch was on it would take both headlights out.
No I haven't jumped it ever. I don't even know how. i remember the dealership telling how but i don't remember any of what they said!
