How do I highway merge when my 2015 Prius C takes 11-12 seconds to even get to 50 mph?

Yeah looking through a 2014 Prius c Owner's Manual: just an on/off button for "Eco Mode".

The C has a PWR band that is part of it's throttle mode... I guess you can call it that. It's on our rev gauge screen, but it's always there, so in my opinion, it's more appropriate to call it the high pedal usage range... which I guess is easier to say with PWR. :D

Just to clarify, the power portion of the HSI bar isn't related to PWR mode. The HSI is just showing what you're demanding of the power plant. PWR mode is a button that remaps the throttle response.

Having owned a "Ford SUV" his Prius C has a faster 0-60 than my old 91' Explorer.

As engines have become more powerful I think expectations have increased without anyone noticing.

Mine is a 73 non super beetle, but the motor is the same, so I imagine times are close.

Did the OP ever report back about maintenance? Where is that air filter check? And tire pressure check? What condition are the tires? And oil change? Cabin filter? 88,000 on that car... I hope she didn't just jump in it, and start driving. But my experience with 35 yr old women tells me different.

Why am I even on this thread. I can't even fit in a c!

Think of them as roller skates! <G>

I have just owned a fair number of slower cars, and am confused by the question.

Other than Ralph, I don't know any males named "Lauren". And Ralph's real name is "Lifschitz".

Coming from a BMW, this car is too slow. Now i am looking to trade it in for a regular prius. I didn't even know that this car is sooo sooo slow.

Edwin, did you test drive the car before buying it? Read an online review, perhaps? The Prius C is one of the slowest accelerating cars sold today. Why were you unaware of this?

May I suggest a driver mod? :coffee: No, seriously, your C, or the regular Prius you have in mind, will never be a Bimmer. They are different cars with different objectives. The important thing is your C is faster than 90% of SUVs out there, save a Cayenne or a Range Rover, while getting 3x the mileage and a fraction of the maintenance cost and headaches. That's a pretty good accomplishment in my book.
