Not sure what he used but I use MS Paint and it works great for labeling and changing photo formats when needed.

Okay thank you LAM OP OT....
This was a huge undertaking for one or two person team...so great work
I have been considering this huge undertaking however have following concerns challenge:::

    concerns... challenge
Never ever done anything like this
Time to perform looks like could go for 26 plus single person working hours …. if all goes well
    Suitable replacement unit
Dealer new cost 3000-4000 dollars part only
Used range cost 300 -700 dollars part only
    New seals cost 20 dollars
    New fluid replacement cost
access or purchase of transmission jack and engine host

I am fairly confident that my transaxle final drive is shot. I am able to drive vehicle however the current noise generated by doing so is painful and sad to tolerate with high confidence of low future reliability of vehicle.

One note watched LG YouTube channel on detection of final drive issue.

Check the connector for parking pawl motor. Are you sure there wasn’t problem with the “new” transmission? 12V battery good and charged? Connections at 12V battery good? What did you read the codes with? Read the codes with Techstream and see if there are other fault codes and what sub code you have on P3102?

    Here’s the chart for P3102: https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/repair%20manual/04pruisr/05/21bpm/3102524.pdf

I had 581 sub code and yes the transmission wasn't good I replaced it again and now the problem is fixed , thank you for the ideas.

I have seen the connector for the parking pawl issue myself. I was having problems where the transmission would sometimes work and other times not. I took it in to the dealer, expecting to get a diagnoses requiring a $3500 repair. I picked it up and they said "No charge, the connector was loose. We pushed it back together and there is no problem now" . I have no idea how it got loose as it had been a while since I had the car worked on. I guess it wasn't pushed in all the way at some point and it slowly worked itself apart.

Hey everyone! This thread really helped my dad and I out as we just finished putting in another transmission into my 2005 Prius. I took the directions from the thread and copied and pasted them and took the time to go to Photobucket and download each image separately and put it all in a document to help my dad do the work. I wanted to attach it here in case it helped anyone in the future. Good luck!
