I bought the car at a little over 60k and was getting around 50mpg. Now it has a little over 130k and getting 40mpg. New Interstate battery and replaced all 4 tires with Bridgestone Ecopia EP20. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
tire pressure a/c use air and cabin filter throttle body egr circuit intake manifold spark plugs injectors
I'm at 203K on a 2011. Last fall I had my fuel injectors cleaned, EGR valve and intake manifold replaced before finding the issue was actually the head gasket, which I also had replaced (ouch!!) This spring I replaced a rear wheel bearing. Last couple months I noticed MPG drop to about 32MPG. Noticed I wasn't rolling on a hill like I'd expect to when in neutral. Found rear brakes were pretty much siezed. Replaced calipers, rotors and pds. Up to about 48-50MPG now. Hopefully I'm good for a while!
I poured some techron fuel cleaner thinking it may not do any good and I'm getting 45mpg now, still not where I want to be but it's something. I typically replace my cabin air filters every 10k miles. I replaced spark plugs at 120k. I have never even heard of an egr circuit before. I haven't touched the intake manifold or injectors. jaspernuts - I may be where you were now, did you clean yourself or take to someone? If so, how much was the cost? jmccloskey - 203k on the same year as me, very impressive! How is your hybrid battery?
Prince, were you getting 40 mpg over a handful of tanks or just 1 tank? How much did the mpg drop right after the new tires were put on and what is the psi? And about the Techron, did you increase 5 mpg on the next tank after using it? Was this the first time you used this type of product, and if not, what were the results the previous time?
I experienced a 3 mpg drop going from conti eco to the bridgestone eco tires that you have. SM-G920V ?
