New Prime comes this week. I want to start from a known ground zero. Is there an option to reset ALL user customizable settings to factory defaults? If yes I haven’t found how. The 12volt battery disconnect doesn’t reset everything. Thanks. J
You could work through the tables on pages 738–746 of the Owner’s Manual (PDF), which list the default settings, and then use the “Delete Personal Data” feature of the navigation system. Some settings can be changed only using a Toyota Techstream diagnostic system or third-party equivalent. The defaults for these are listed in the Customize Parameters sections of the Repair Manual, available by subscription to techinfo.toyota.com.
I don’t think dealer only settings are a problem. I know about the Nav personal data. I was trying to avoid going through every setting individually. Although that might be a good learning experience. Thanks. J
To perform a 'soft reset' on a Toyota, simply push and hold the power/volume button for 3 -5 seconds. The system will reboot with everything back to factory defaults. Just a guess here, but I'm assuming the Prime would be the same way.
You are receiving a brand new Prime from factory, why do you think they would not be set to all factory default? Just wondering.
Probably yes maybe no. The dealer puts each new car through a "photo op" where they take about 30 photos and a movie if they need to put it up on their web site. Who knows what MID, HUD, Touchscreen settings they fiddled with. Does the PDI require setting anything to non defaults? More likely for me is I will play with a bunch of things early on and after I get things totally bolloxed up I just want to start over. Is there an easy way to do that? J
Sorry, I don't know. After a year of driving Prime, I'm still only half way through reading the manual. For me most of functions Prime offers are something I never care to use anyway. LOL
