    Hi all!
I've been browsing the forums for a couple months now trying to figure out if the Prius is the right car for me. After doing a lot of research and a couple of test drives, I'm a huge fan!

I've found a 2013 "2" locally that I'm hoping to have wrapped up in the next couple of days. It's got 60,000 miles and I've got the dealership to agree on what I think is quite a fair price.

Anyways, I've had it sent to my mechanic this morning for an inspection and am hoping to hear back from him soon. Since it's relatively low mileage and still within warranty on the hybrid system - should be until Oct. 2020 as it looks like date of manufacture was Oct. 2012 - I'm not too terribly worried, but it'll be my first hybrid, so I wanna be sure he gets a good look at it to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Anything in particular I should be looking out for, red flags, etc?

    On top of all that:
something I like to do to all my cars is swap the interior lights for LEDs. I know some cars use a CAN bus system which can lead to bulb out errors or whatnot if you use 'regular' LED bulbs - does the Prius use this type system, or will "normal" LED bulbs be okay to do?

    Excited!!

A small update for any interested: mechanic gave a great report. Said he couldn't find a single problem. Hoping to get everything squared away today after work!

Well, got it all worked out! Was able to get the dealership to match the best rate I could find as well as provided an extra remote for free and agreed to touch up a small scratch spot or two.

I hadn't seen this thread till just now. Congrats on the "new" buggy. Sounds like you're going to have a great car. And the dealer was right to give you the second fob. They come with two of them new so there's no good reason to not always have two. Buying the fob yourself can be really expensive.

^ I can relate. I bought my v wagon from a wholesaler so I didn't have the leverage to ask for a second key. Cost me $330 total.

    Congratulations!
