    I have a 2012 Prius.

Like a few others, I started to experience my Prius not going to "Ready" after starting the car about 6 months ago. As I've researched and discovered about the 12v battery being the possible issue, I had Pep Boys check out my battery and it was super dead. So I went ahead and replaced the battery in late June 2018. I thought all was fixed. The car would start up and no issues...until gradually the issue came back. It's late July 2018.

Sometimes the car would go to "Ready" but I noticed that the AC would not be on, and sometimes, it would just not go to "Ready" at all.
I've checked the brake lights, as I've also read that the brake sensor could be whack? maybe that's the actual issue, but my brake lights do still work.

Can anyone give me some info on how to check this sensor thing, and what I would need to do to get it fixed? could I fix it myself?

if it's not the brake sensor, or the 12v battery, what other possibilities are out there to cause this issue?

    thx yall.

if the brake lights work, it is not the switch. get a volt meter and test the battery voltage, or go back to pep boys and have them check it.
do you drive it every day?

Check if both positive and ground terminals are on tight. Then check for any corrosion and ground to car chassis cable is securely tighten. If all good move to next step below:

Wait over night and then do a battery voltage check. If below measures below12.7 then get them to replace the battery for free.

if the a/c would not come on, maybe check the inverter pump.
