Hi everyone. If you own a Prius or for this matter any Toyota cars of the years 2016-2018, go to the Toyota download site and download the entune update for free because when the mark of 36 months will be up, the files will no longer be available on the site and they will charged you 160-285 at the dealership for the update because if your warranty has expired.
Do you have a link or URL or even just guidance on where on toyota.com the update would be found for downloading?
@louis gueye would have to tell us for sure, but the site I know of for Toyota radio and navigation software updates is securedp.toyota.com. Even for recent vehicles, that site sometimes has incorrect information, saying no update is available when one exists and is available at dealers. In my experience, the latest software has always been available to download with a Professional Diagnostic subscription to techinfo.toyota.com (starting at $65 for two days, recently increased from $55). The subscription also includes “all available ECU calibration files,” i.e., updates for other computers on the car. Neither site offers navigation databases with maps and points of interest, which are sold separately.
Why would I even use Entune? Yes I downloaded it onto my phone back in '12 but I guarantee I haven't used it in the last 5 years. Just didn't see any benefit. Yes the firmware for the radio system was a worthwhile and free upgrade and the map data horribly expensive
What's the OP talking about? Is he referring to the 36 month no-cost trial for the connected services feature included in some versions of Entune 3.0 after which there may be a charge for updates unless Toyota makes updates free like it originally did for Entune. I use Entune almost every time I drive my wife's 2012 Prius v to steam music from Pandora to which I subscribe. It still works fine ... it gets its updates over-the-air. I sure liked the Entune 3.0 head unit that was in the 2018 Camry that the Toyota dealer provided while our Sienna was in for a recall - particularly liked the way it presented sat radio station information. The navigation in wife's Prius v still works great ... had the Toyota dealership update it in early 2017 with the November 2016 update and will have it updated again when the November 2018 update is available.
Does anyone have the update file for a 2015 Prius? The Toyota download link shows there is one available but the download button doesn't work. Presumably because it over 3 years.
The link worked for me. On the securedp.toyota.com home page, I selected PRIUS, 2015, and WITH NAVIGATION; clicked GO; next to Display Audio with Navigation and Entune App Suite, clicked GET UPDATES; and then clicked the DOWNLOAD button, which redirected to an Amazon S3 bucket holding a file called 01039-HBEKR-16A.zip, which is 281,817,601 bytes long and has an SHA-256 digest ending in 26865b52. I regret that I can’t share the file for copyright reasons, but you may be able to download it from this address: Code: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/securedp.toyota.com/toyota/entune/01039-HBEKR-16A.zip
Thanks for replying. I found that same link. Couldn't get the download button to do anything. So I inspected the code and found the link and downloaded the file yesterday. I updated today without any issues. I'm still having issues getting entune to connect to my iPhone but that is a discussion for another thread.
Entune updates are available at the securedp.toyota... link. (I cannot include a real link yet.) (At least at the time of this writing.) You just pick your model, year, and whether Nav is supported. It will then tell you if an update is available. No login is needed. Updates for the Prius V are available for years 2012 to 2018.
