Aftermarket Leather installed

    My new leather seats were installed this afternoon. They are SWEET - much nicer than the cheap OEM from china. I am glad my dealer was a bum and gave me the #7 package instead of #8. Two-tone Charcoal on Ice Grey to match the Magnetic Grey trim. Italian leather from Katskins (www.katskins.com). If anyone is looking to upgrade, I highly recommend Coach Automotive.

    After reading some posts here on priuschat (thanks, Cairo94507) late Wednesday night (10:30PM) I decided to call Coach and leave them a message. Much to my surprise, my call was answered by a gentleman named Tony. We discussed the options and costs and I told him I would call him in the morning. Thursday morning I called him at 8:00, made a selection after much wavering on colors and styles and finalized the price at $1295. By 11:00 they had a team over to my office to pick up the seats, door panes and center console (at no extra costs). By 1:00 today they had the seats back in, etc. and I can not be more pleased with the results. By the way, if you are in more of a hurry, they can install everything in 3hrs at their shop in Union City, as long as it is pre-ordered and paid in advance.

    Any interested party should note that they are contracted out with local dealerships at wholesale prices - they do most toyotas, etc. around here. It makes the process easier if you bough your car out of town. Or at least tell them you did :)

    I'm a NJ person and I picked up my car last night with my grey after-market Katskin leather seats. I got them through Crystal Auto Mall in Green Brook, who uses a 3rd party installer. I just asked for 'grey' - hadn't realized that I could have asked for any of about 90 colors on the Katskin site - but I'm thrilled with the job they did. The $995 + tax deal included the center console and four door armrests which I've heard don't come with the package 8. And I got a free loaner car for the two days they had my car.

    So my 2006 Super White package 5 now has wonderful grey leather seats and I'm thrilled!
