This being a James Hansen thread, I looked for something newsy on him. This led me to Arthur H. Rosenfeld - Wikipedia Who seems like a person we ought to talk about here.
While I have heard of these happening with BMW i3 batteries and such, I haven't heard of this kind of use with Toyota NiMH batteries, so far. I do see recycling info on these however: https://www.hybridcars.com/toyota-europe-aiming-for-100-percent-hybrid-battery-recycling/
Awhile back, there was a post here about Toyota using old NiMH packs for peak shaving at a couple of dealerships in Japan.
That's good to know. Whatever can help with all the bright night lighting at the dealership lots would be good.
