Hi Guys, I know this may be a funny question but I wanted to see if you guys think a 50 gal water heater would fit my Prius 2005 with the seats folded down? it looks like there is plenty of room. ( the water heater is not working, I just need to move it a different place ) thanks
Sure no problem. My G2 is the best pick up truck I have ever owned. I routinely bring home 300 lbs of bagged dirt in the back of mine. If its bigger than the back area I rent a trailer from U Haul for $22. Get a Curt hitch on your car. It will quickly pay for itself. Its the main reason i find it hard to part with the car after 11 years its just so handy.
Even full (~ 400 pounds of water), shouldn't exceed the car's load capacity. If it's gas, though, be sure it's vented to the outside. -Chap
The weight shouldn't be a problem for the car, but it might be different for your back. Just be really careful that it doesn't spring a leak.
Can you provide a model number that fits Gen 2? I am very interested in having a hitch on my 2007. Also, is it class 1 or class 2?
I've thought the same thing. I'm tired of taking the front wheel off my bike and squeezing the bike inside the car. I'm also old enough I don't want to have to throw the bike on the roof and I don't really care for racks that strap to the hatch.
Just go on the Curt website Etrailer and look it up. In addition to the hitch I highly recommend the extra power supply for the rear lights. It provides extra power to run the trailer's lights. Its all plug and play no wire chopping necessary. Mines been in my car working for over 10 years. Never any issues. Lots of Prius owners have Curt hitches. Use the search forum and search Curt hitch. There's some fitment issues like the bolt holes sometimes dont match the cars bolt holes. Some have no issues some do. They use a shitty jig but other than that its a well made hitch. With a hitch I can tow practically anything home.
